With all the hub bub, I had to try! I visited twice since my first visit, once with my girlfriend Jennifer and the second time with the husband and kiddo. The pops are $3 and so far I have tried the Mango, Coconut, Avocado and Strawberry Lemonade. All pretty good, the Coconut is the best of the creamy pops, the Strawberry Lemonade for the fruity pops. Fun place!
Southern Goods (Heights)
Well...it's not exactly what we were planning on eating tonight but since our destination spot was closed we decided to make this unexpected visit. The restaurant was pretty small, great outdoor space, just a little hot to be outside right now. We ordered the fried chicken $19, ribs $16, cornbread $8, cucumber tomato salad $10, and braised greens $6, total tab $70! Much of the food was good, great flavors, smokiness was nice but we were a little disappointed with some of the portion sizes for the price. But other than that all was a pretty good experience.

Mein (Bellaire Chinatown)
This place has been on my to-do list for way too long! Finally got to try it and I liked it! If it were closer in, it might be a regular go-to place. It's not the best Chinese food I have ever had, but it's good enough and overall the food plus atmosphere was good. If I were being really critical, of these 5 dishes, only the eggplant was really good. Everything else was tasty, just not eyebrow raising. Our bill came out to $46, not bad!
