So I happen to read an article about the best pizzas in Houston, Napoletana style and not...and all the pizzas they listed I would have to agree with. They did list Cane Rosso as well, so of course I had to go try for myself. It's pretty casual dining. As I am now with child, we have to consider family friendliness, so on that front, CR checked out fine. On food, it was hard to pick, so many options! We decided to get "THE JOAN MARIE" pepperoni, housemade mozzarella, goat cheese, roasted jalapeno pesto $16 and I always have to get a Margherita, $13, to compare. They were both good, texture, taste, but I really didn't think the Joan Marie was that much more tastier than the Margherita, but I'm not complaining. We also got the CAPRA salad, field greens, crispy pancetta, dried cherries, toasted pecans, grape tomatoes, goat cheese, balsamic, $7. I have to say, this salad was really good and we got the small one, which was big enough for the 2 of us, but we're big salad eaters, so I think we could have gotten the $12 portion, which our server says feeds 4 people. And it was better than what I have had at Pizaro's. We definitely liked our experience, I think we'll revisit here before we go back to Pizaro's, for that salad!
Snooze Eatery
Staff is really great here, the General Manager basically stays outside to help with parking, wow! Super nice guys. The place gets super packed, Sunday is their busiest day, so we went on Saturday. The little secret to reserving a seat at the time you want is to swing by, put your name down for a time, is what I was told or you can just put your name down and when they text you, head back over.
I ordered half Benny, half French Toast! I love that they allow that, but it's not on the menu, I just asked and he said yes! So I ordered the Late Harvest Benny and the French Toast Neat, but they kept bringing me the Drunken Monkey! I mean they finally got it right and took it off my tab, but I would have fathered just got the right meal. No biggie, I don't mind a free meal.
On the food, I thought the Late Harvest Benny was good, hash browns tasty and French toast also good, but taste and feels kind of chainy, if you know what I mean. It was nice to try but I don't know that it's worth that hour plus long wait, just my two cents.
Urban Eats
I haven't been here in awhile...and now that I'm 4 weeks postpartum, I need to start paying careful attention to my diet and any place that has awesome salad options like Urban Eats gets 2 thumbs up from me! I ordered the Rocket & Couscous Salad, add Grilled Chicken and Matt got the Ahi Tuna Salad, both really yummy! I definitely will put Urban Eats on the rotation!
