Well 4.5 stars, I have to try this! I can appreciate a mom and pop shop. The customers love this place, I chatted with a woman just super excited about this place, practically had everything on the menu! My opinion, the food was decent but I think 4.5 is a little stretch, sorry, that's my honest opinion. I was a little disappointed too. My spaghetti was ok, the Italian Sausage was good. The salad is just normal but the Italian wedding cookies were yummy! Overall, decent experience, it was ok. But don't let me sway you, you may love it!
Chambers (Vancouver)
Excellent! Love the atmosphere and the food was excellent! The waffle thing in Vancouver I think I'm over though...it's no Paris!
Pi Pizza (Washington Heights)
I ordered a pepperoni pizza with fresh jalapeños and I was kind of not expecting it to be that great because of the low ratings, but I thought the pizza was real nice!It looked fresh and tasted great!I also ordered the side Arugula salad and it was disappointing how small it was but I thought that it was pretty good too with the pumpkin seeds. This will definitely be a regular spot for us!By the way, sometimes the pepperoni can taste very gamey, like Luna's and Pizarro's, but it was great here!
Eloise Nichols Does Poke
It's everywhere these days and it's also at Eloise Nichols!
Canopy
I forgot to take a shot of the Vegan Buckwheat Noodles dish I ordered which was delish! But, I didn't forget that Coconut Cream Pie! Mmmmmm!
The Fish
I had heard from a friend how the Kobe burger, $16, at the Fish was one of the best burgers he's had...I tried it, it was fine. I wouldn't describe it as the best burger I've ever had...but Nick had the short ribs bento lunch box that looked great! And our server charged me for the dinner portion, $16, instead of what I ordered, lunch portion, $12...just saying...
The New Alice Blue (Heights)
I was excited to try, I like the atmosphere and on our food we ordered the squash fritters, the Nicoise salad and I got the tagliatelle pasta and I thought all the food was fine, good. I have to be honest I wasn't wow food and honestly. But it also forget the poached tuna on our salad which when they finally brought it out was not very good and I'm glad they did that all of the salad because I would have eaten. But it was nice because they comped us on that dish. Overall, I wasn't crazy about the place, but it's not bad.
Roka Akor
Is located in an undescript location Wesleyan and W. Alabama and it's a modern, upscale atmosphere, very nice! We ordered most of the signature dishes and quite honestly they were good but wasn't a wow experience. We ordered the yellowtail appetizer, sweet corn, and a few rolls and they were all good but nothing wowed me, other than the chocolate dessert, that was amazing! And I wasn't even in the mood for chocolate! Overall, not a bad experience, I'll definitely have to go back, this time for dinner!
