So...I was confused. Matt and I were heading to lunch at Niko Nikos in Market Square, but got side tracked by seeing El Big Bad. I thought this was the same place as the restaurant being built on White Oak and Studewood. But, I did remember seeing something about El Big Bad, so anyways, we decided to get side tracked.
Skimming the menu, I was a little disappointed. I really didn't recognize anything, here I'm thinking about to have some Tex Mex and I was actually really craving some chips and salsa. Well, El Big Bad has chips and salsa, but you have to order it...meaning you have to pay for it. Can you believe? You have to pay for chips and salsa?!! That, I don't already like. However, on the positive note, we ordered the 3 salsas for $8 and the Charred salsa was my favorite. We also ordered some green stuff and some other funky looking red stuff, actually we just let our server pick. The chips were really good actually. After we ran out of salsa, we just munched on those and the salt on it plus the thickness, I liked a lot.
I got the Quinoa and Avocado salad and Matt got the Shrimp and Pineapple Salad. They were both ok, but geez, I think I could have made this at home and mine would have been a little more snazzier. Anyways, it's unlikely I'll be back here, I can't imagine them being in business very long. Nobody...I mean nobody, likes to pay for chips and salsa at a Latin restaurant.
